Applying cutting edge technologies in railway monitoring.
We are Eurailscout Inspection and Analysis B.V. and in this talk we are going to tell you about ourselves, how we came to be, our scope and mission, and what challenges we see coming in the future.
To get you on track already, we measure railways. The Dutch railway network is one of the most densely built and crowded pieces of railway infrastructure in the world. It is constantly subject to wear and tear. With our measuring trains we monitor the entirety of the Dutch Railway network (more than 6000 kms of track) at least twice a year. Besides that, we also operate in other countries, for a total of over 50,000 kms per year!
We deliver different kinds of inspections:
- Ultrasonic measurements (by train and fieldwork)
- Switch inspection
- Track Geometry
- Overhead Line inspection
- Signalling
- Visual Inspection (Track view and Driver view)
All of the above with a very high precision and accuracy of location, so our customers can easily find defects.
Some of the hurdles we encounter are:
- How to improve our measurement platforms: higher resolution, better performance, all together reliability and accuracy.
- monitoring the abovementioned.
- How to deal with the very large quantities of data and when to utilise AI/ML to sift through the data.
- How to help our customers managing the data of their product.
- etc. etc.
There’s enough to talk about, and if any of the above interests you, or if you’re interested in railway infrastructure, please come by!
